Our Story
The Palestinian Culture Center was established in Jordan in 1993 by a team of dedicated ladies who had been volunteering in the General Union of Palestinian Women Kuwait branch. The GUPW had been creating beautiful pieces to help achieve three goals: preserve the rich heritage and culture of Palestine; help empower women and their families in the refugee camps to become financially independent; sustain disadvantaged Palestinians in their homeland and in the Diaspora.
Cultural Preservation
The national dress of every Palestinian village is distinguished by its own unique patterns. Through our embroidery we showcase a plethora of motifs from various areas in Palestine, with the hope, that we raise awareness on how the preservation of our national dress is a civilized and peaceful form of resisting the occupation's attempts to claim it as its own.
